The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released the official notification for IB MTS Recruitment 2025 for 362 Multi-Tasking Staff (General) {MTS(G)} posts across various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs).
Online applications have started from 22 November 2025 and will continue till 14 December 2025 through the official MHA website and NCS portal. These are Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts with All India transfer liability.

IB MTS Recruitment 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
• Candidate must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent from a recognized Board.
• Candidate must possess a valid domicile certificate of the State against which he/she is applying as on the closing date of application (14 December 2025).Age Limit (as on 14 December 2025)

IB MTS Recruitment 2025 – Salary & Benefits
• Pay Level: Level-1 in the Pay Matrix
• Pay Scale: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 (as per 7th CPC)
• Allowances: Admissible Central Government allowances as per rules.
• Special Security Allowance (SSA): 20% of basic pay in addition to other allowances.
• Other Benefits: Cash compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays, subject to a ceiling of 30 days.
IB MTS Recruitment 2025 – Selection Process & Exam Pattern
• Exam Duration: 1 Hour
• Question Type: Objective type MCQs
• Negative Marking: ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS – 30, OBC – 28, SC/ST – 25.
Syllabus (Brief): General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning (Analytical/Logical), Basic English Language.
2. Tier-II: Descriptive Exam (Qualifying)
• Subject: English Language and Comprehension
• Total Marks: 50 Marks
• Duration: 1 Hour
• Nature: Qualifying (Qualifying Marks: 20)
• Includes: Basics of English language, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, usage, and paragraph writing in 150 words.
IB MTS Recruitment 2025 – Application Fee
Application fee details are as per official notification. Candidates have to pay the fee and recruitment processing charges online through SBI EPAY LITE using net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI or SBI challan.

IB MTS Recruitment 2025 – How to Apply Online
Candidates must apply online only through MHA’s official website or NCS portal. Follow the steps below:
Step 1 – Keep the following documents ready
• Valid personal Email ID and Mobile Number (active throughout recruitment process).
• Scanned recent passport-size colour photograph (100–200 KB, in JPG/JPEG, not older than 12 weeks).
• Scanned signature (80–150 KB, JPG/JPEG).
• Valid Photo ID proof issued by Central/State Government.
• Class X certificate/marksheet.
• Class XII/Diploma/Graduation certificates/marksheets (if applicable).
Step 2 – Registration
• Visit www.mha.gov.in or www.ncs.gov.in.
• Click on the IB MTS Recruitment 2025 application link.
• Read the instructions carefully, tick on “I Agree” and click on “Registration / Sign-Up”.
• Enter basic personal and contact details. Login ID and Password will be sent to your registered Email ID.
Step 3 – Fill Application Form
• Login using your credentials (Login ID & Password).
• Select appropriate category and SIB.
• Fill personal details, qualification details, etc.
• Upload photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
• Verify all details carefully before final submission.
Step 4 – Fee Payment
• Pay the applicable examination fee and Recruitment Processing Charges through SBI EPAY LITE via Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI / Challan.
• Save and print the application form and fee receipt for future reference.
Important:
• Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn.
• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
• Category & sub-category (UR/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD/ESM) once selected cannot be changed later.
• SIB opted once will NOT be changed in any circumstances.
